Poecilotheria metallica is an Old World species of tarantula. It is the only blue species of the Poecilotheria genus. Like others in its genus it exhibits an intricate fractal-like pattern on the abdomen.

Females can grow up to 7.5 inches, while males are slightly smaller

This tarantula is arboreal and needs a tall enclosure with climbing surfaces. It doesn’t web much but will make a web funnel inside or behind a cork round or long flat piece of cork bark.
